AI submittal checks a licensee still marks
AI submittal review compares product data with its specification and lists differences. A licensed architect or engineer marks the action and applies any required seal.
Why the mark and the seal stay with the licensee
Preparation Organize, route, summarize.
Architects Supervised or adopted work only.
Engineers Sign, date, and seal.
Substitution Both sentences, action blank.
From submittal log to a markable review
One spec division, one project. The submittal log records status, not approval.
Tie to one section Section, number, and product.
Quote both texts Spec and product data, cited.
List deviations Never call them acceptable.
Leave the action blank That mark is the reviewer's.
Draft an RFI response When the spec is silent.

No seals, signatures, unchosen marks.
Specification files, the log, and email
Spec set, submittal log, inbox.
Seal and signature rules differ by state. The Florida statutes below are an example because the firm is in Miami. They are not a national rule, and this page is not a professional opinion.
Questions
Can AI submittal review approve a product?
No. It shows where the product data and the spec agree or differ. Approval marks belong to a licensed architect or engineer.
When is an RFI response part of submittal review?
When the specification does not answer the question the package raises. If the spec states the requirement, the packet quotes it instead.
Does the submittal log replace the reviewer's mark?
No. Received and under review are logistics. The outcome is the mark stored with the licensee's name.
Will this page's Florida statutes apply to a project in another state?
Not as a governing rule. The licensee follows the seal rules of the state where they are sealing.
