Precision AI OS for Freight & Logistics

Front-office AI is here. The paperwork behind the invoice still waits on people.

AI for freight brokers is easiest to buy at the front office, where Vooma handles quoting and inbound calls, and McLeod and Revenova are adding AI to their own TMS. The back office is thinner: matching invoices to shipment records and assembling the billing package. Precision AI OS fits there, preparing documents across your systems while your staff approve carrier, payment and shipment decisions.

What matters to your team.

Margin is falling while work grows. Logistics Management's coverage of TIA's second-quarter 2026 report says gross margin fell 0.2%, to 17.8%, and was off 120 basis points, or 1.2%, on the year, while shipment volume and total revenue rose. The back office is still manual: only 2% of brokerages have fully automated accounts payable and 2% accounts receivable, and 43% describe receivables as only partially automated, with many manual steps remaining (2025 FreightWaves and OTR Solutions survey). Highway's Q1 2026 Freight Fraud Index says half of all freight fraud was committed by carriers with clean records. Start where documents hold up billing.

When the software you have is enough.

Ask your current vendors first. Vooma reads incoming quote requests, fields inbound calls and emails, shows integrations with Turvo, McLeod, Aljex and Revenova, and publishes no price. We did not find proof-of-delivery chasing on that homepage. HappyRobot focuses on voice work for large brokers and publishes no product price. McLeod offers an AI order-creation interface for LoadMaster and PowerBroker, and Revenova's Artimus builds loads from inbound emails. Aljex lists automated order entry and makes no AI claim; Essential shows $699 a month for five users (checked October 2026). Precision AI OS fits invoice matching, carrier-file completeness and documents that sit across tools.

Where your team can gain time.

Illustrative workflows, scoped to your systems and review process during discovery.

  • Shipment documents

Match bills of lading and supporting records to the correct shipment from email and shared folders, and flag what is missing.

  • Proof of delivery

Track which delivery documents have arrived and prepare requests for the missing ones for staff to send. If a tool you already run chases those documents, start elsewhere.

  • Invoice matching

Compare agreed shipment fields with carrier invoice support and prepare discrepancies for review before billing.

  • Carrier setup

Gather onboarding information and flag incomplete files for staff. Carrier approval stays with your people and your vetting provider.

  • Billing packs

Assemble the documents and open items for one customer so a reviewer can check them before billing.

A practical place to start.

Start with invoice-pack preparation for one customer or lane, with a named owner for exceptions. First check which of these tasks your TMS or front-office tool already covers.

Track missing-document time, manual matching effort and days from complete delivery records to billing review. Include reviewer time. Released time is capacity, not an automatic saving.

Start with the systems you have.

Discovery starts with your exact TMS, version and permissions, not an assumption that every system has an API. McLeod's developer portal includes a request for an API key. A public profile of Turvo's API says customers obtain a client ID, secret and API key inside their own tenant. Rose Rocket has a developer portal. We found no customer developer documentation for Aljex or on the Revenova pages we read (checked October 2026). We check reading and writing separately.

Keep the right people in control.

Access is limited to the transport systems and partner documents you confirm. Carrier approval, payments and shipment commitments stay with authorized staff. Source documents are preserved so exceptions can be traced.

What the first 90 days could look like.

An illustrative sequence, adjusted after discovery. Timing depends on data access, scope and your team's availability.

  1. Discover and define

Map one workflow, check the systems and permissions, and agree what a useful result looks like.

  2. Build and test

Connect approved inputs and test drafts against representative examples with your reviewers.

  3. Run and improve

Introduce the agreed workflow, monitor exceptions and compare results with the starting baseline before widening scope.

Questions firms ask

What can AI do for a freight brokerage?

It handles repeat document work: matching shipment records, checking delivery documents, preparing invoice packs and flagging incomplete carrier files. Quoting, inbound calls and voice work are already sold by Vooma and HappyRobot, so price those first. Staff still approve carriers, payments and shipment commitments.

Is Vooma enough, or do I need another AI tool for my brokerage?

For quoting and for inbound calls and emails, often yes. Vooma shows integrations with Turvo, McLeod, Aljex and Revenova and publishes no price. Look beyond it for invoice matching and billing packs, which the homepage we read does not describe.

Does HappyRobot work for a small freight broker?

It is built for large operations. A press report in August 2026 said eight of the 10 largest US freight brokers use it and put the company's minimum annual spend at approximately $250,000. HappyRobot's own site publishes no product price, so ask for a quote.

Can AI connect to my TMS, such as McLeod, Aljex, Turvo or Revenova?

It depends on the system and your permissions. McLeod's developer portal includes a request for an API key. A public profile of Turvo's API says customers obtain credentials inside their own tenant, and Rose Rocket has a developer portal. We found no customer developer documentation for Aljex, and none on the Revenova pages we read (checked October 2026). Reading and writing are separate checks.

Does Aljex have AI built in?

Aljex's own TMS page lists automated order entry and dispatch but makes no AI claim (checked October 2026). Its pricing page shows $699 a month on the Essential plan, which includes five users, with Professional from $999 a month.

How do I protect my brokerage from carrier identity theft and fraud?

Use a vetting service built for it, and keep carrier approval with your staff. Highway's Q1 2026 index says half of all freight fraud was committed by carriers with clean records, so a clean history does not by itself clear the next load. AI can flag incomplete carrier files for a person to check.

How can I cut manual invoice matching and chasing proof of delivery?

Start with one customer or lane and compare agreed shipment fields with invoice support before billing. A December 2025 FreightWaves piece says teams spend time chasing PODs and reconciling invoices. If a tool you already run chases delivery documents, focus on matching.

How much time will AI save my brokerage?

We don't quote a number before measuring. The 2025 FreightWaves and OTR Solutions survey found only 2% of brokerages fully automate accounts payable. Discovery sets your baseline, and the pilot is judged against it, including the time staff spend reviewing drafts.
